Jocelyn never ceases to impress me, with her professionalism, positive energy and commitment to making a difference in the world. Jocelyn has served as a volunteer countless times with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and in this role has demonstrated excellent skills in communication and leadership. Her communication skills are excellent and she is a natural leader. She has the skill set and experience to coach people of any age group and background. Jocelyn exhibits an exuberance and passion for the work she does and this is infectious. I can't recommend her highly enough.

-Stephanie Hertz, Former Director of Career Services at Goodwin University. Associate Director of Development at ADL, CT.

Good coaches are able to connect. They are strength-based. They are able to support you in finding and leveraging your strengths in life. They help you feel comfortable in their presence and respect that you are a person and not a diagnosis. They are collaborative. They work with you as a partner in the process, and they are as invested in seeing you make progress as you are. They are integrative. They utilize many techniques and approaches to get results, and they remain on the cutting edge by staying current in the research and regularly evaluating their practice and responding to your feedback and outcomes.

Jocelyn is a guiding light in the dark for many young women like myself who are seeking mentorship as they development their personal, academic, professional, and spiritual visions and goals. Her extremely warm, personable, meet-you-where-you're-at nature and down-to-earth approach to life nevertheless parallels her encouragement to set your objectives high and gain a spiritual sense of your life's purpose. Jocelyn pairs practical advice (on topics like networking, gaining mentors, smart job applications, etc.) with emotional connection. She will encourage you to say "YES" to new challenges and opportunities, as well as to say "NO" to relationships and situations that do not serve you. She is an ideal mentor for women who want to serve in the field of social justice and/or become holistic entrepreneurs while developing a healthy work/life balance, building from a place of internal wellness, and maintaining positive relationships.

- Sarah Kacevich, Program Director at Farrington Nature Linc

Jocelyn is a great mentor. Since starting work with her, I have learned a great deal about networking. She has helped me learn how to use LinkedIn effectively and how to utilize my existing college/ personal network. Her guidance has definitely given me a lot of confidence in career hunting and advancing my personal aspirations.

-Zachary Turmelle, High School Teacher at The School District of Philadelphia

Three years ago I was a girl afraid of her own voice. I had no clue I had the power to stand out in the world. I owe her something close to the world. It was because of Jocelyn that I realized the power of my voice, my personality and my conviction.

-Sabrina, 18

Jocelyn is an extraordinary leader who is driven to rid the world of bigotry and prejudice. She is also a passionate supporter of helping young women develop strong healthy self-images.

Areas of Focus

Executive Functioning (EF)

You Needed to Be Feeling Better Yesterday. I’ve been there! Deadlines are passing by, excuses are adding up, and people get frustrated with your performance (or lack thereof). Family and friends feel you’ve been absent, and it has started impacting relationships. Things can’t wait for you to be better. Everything is moving by so fast, and you’re drowning in the pressure to keep up. But your brain won’t cooperate, and you’re feeling stuck. You’re losing precious hours of productivity from being worried, distracted, or losing your train of thought. Life is going by, and it’s like you’re missing it all. And right now, there’s too much riding on you; you can’t afford to slip up. Executive Functioning is a descriptive term for the basic skill set of “self-management” – the ability to set goals, follow-through, initiate tasks, emotionally self-regulate, focus, organize, and engage in metacognition (seeing the “big picture”).  Much like meditation, EF skills can help us address and manage anxiety and help improve our overall mindset.

People-Pleasing as a Lifestyle

You're a pro at telling everyone "yes" and over-booking yourself. Saying "no" causes that inner dread feeling and thinking

Health care fatigue. You're a people-pleaser and you're good at it. A sense of safety comes from making everyone happy. It’s perfectionism, a protective strategy to ensure that people don’t hurt, hate, or leave you.

Your mantra becomes, “If I do everything just right, then they’ll all like me.”

Saying “no” feels like a dirty word, a statement impossible to make. And “What I want doesn’t matter” feels right and natural.

You lose yourself in making others happy. It gives you joy and purpose but leaves you feeling used and undervalued. Resentment lives underneath it all.

But you feel that you can’t do anything about it – this is just the way it is. Forget about what matters to you and being yourself. These things don’t matter; they are an imposition. But people-pleasing is exhausting and holds you back.

Maybe it's time to learn how to say "no" to others and "yes" to yourself.

Self-Compassion

When you talk to yourself, you're not super kind. You're hard on yourself, you have high expectations of yourself, and falling short isn't an option. You could use some gentleness and compassion towards yourself. Feeling safe and connected in relationships again is possible, and healing from past abuse is achievable. You can heal your old wounds. Coaching can help you understand what you’re feeling, why you’re feeling it, and how to feel better. With brain science and practical strategies, coaching provides a trauma-aware appreciation of the pain and fear you experienced. You will develop skills to slow down your thoughts and worries and gain the ability to challenge your fears so you can live life fully again. You can then sort out your feelings about trust, intimacy, and power, preventing those negative feelings from dominating your interactions. It's time to treat yourself with the same compassion you share with others in your life.

Anxiety

Anxiety is awful. You're exhausted all the time. You're sweaty. Your heart races. Terrible. You'll gain skills to combat your anxiety as well as challenge that tendency to jump to only negative conclusions.

Burnout

Whether health care fatigue, major life changes, relationship stress, divorce, anxiety, communication difficulties, parenting, anger management, you’re tired and whatever you’ve tried in the past simply isn’t working for you anymore.

The way you are coping is not serving you, and it keeps you trapped in fear. You’re determined that it needs to be different; something must change. People do this every day, so why can’t you? It’s time to try something different.
